I got these fish to put inside bars of soap that I was making. The kids loved working the fish out of the soap during their baths. Now they like to have the fish in the bath with them to play with. There were a couple of repeats, but only two pairs out of the twelve fish. The colors are bright and from what I can tell (I am no fish expert) the colors are true to real life. They are a solid and heavy plastic, so bear that in mind for your project. They do not float! Most of the fish will stand on the pectoral fins though, which is a nice touch as I line them up on the side of the tub.

I love fish and marine life, so seeing this for so cheap made me want to buy it. Arrived as expected. Opened it up and first thing I noticed was the colors are not as bright as the picture shows. I counted them, and it was 11 fish. The package and the site both said it would come with 12. Another thing I noticed was that they stand up on their pelvic fins (The the side-by-side fins on the bottom of the fish). Next, all of the fish were a different color, but I got 5 pairs that were the same shape. If they’re going to be the same shape they should be the same pattern. One that I didn’t mind was the one in the same body shape as the clownfish but blue, with a black head and yellow fins. It didn’t bother me because that is a species of fish that should be like that. Next thing I noticed that they aren’t as flexible as they were supposed to be. This was actually a relief, because I don’t want stretchy and bendy fish. They are actually realistic, which is good because I am obsessive about making sure every detail is correct.Pros: Realistic, cheap, not bendy, can stand upCons: Only comes with eleven, dull colors, pairs don’t match.

My daughter enjoys playing in the tub so these were purchased as tub toys for an older child (7 years) who loves sea animals. She loves the colorful fish but unfortunately because they are mad of solid plastic they don’t float at all. She still plays with them but I will be on the look out for tub toys for older children that look realistic and still float.

Great fish! Study and a great size. I don’t mind getting duplicate fish but wish the dupes would be of the nicer looking fish. We got 2 of an ugly gray fish and only 1 of the pretty blue fishes. That’s my only suggestion!

This is a fantastic set! Mine came with 2 of each kind; great for matching. Well made, durable and they are ACTUAL saltwater fish. You can look up the names. I took their picture on google lense and it brought up the names of the fish. They are the perfect size for playing. I bought these because my 2 yo son wanted his deep sea creatures to have fish to eat. PERFECT. A steal for the price.

Ordered these as a gift for a friend who wanted a fish tank at work but wasn’t allowed to have real fish in it. Ordered two weeks in advance but still got they’re just on time, barely made it! Really colorful fish and they’re fine quality. Decent weight to them actually. As expected, nothing less nothing more. -1 star for shipping wait time

This set is okay but disappointing in many ways. First, it wasn’t mentioned anywhere that there would be duplicates, and not 12 unique fish. The way I read it, “ship at random” means that you don’t control which colors you get, but you still get unique ones. I didn’t think it would read “the guy in China scooped a pile blindly and half of them might end up being the same color”. As it happens, 8 out of my 12 were duplicates (4 pairs). This is unacceptable. Also, their colors were very dull and desaturated, not like shown in the picture. And they had a really strong chemical smell – kinda like acetone. It took a few days of airing out to get rid of it. Other than that, the fish are okay and I like that they can stand up on their own, balancing on their bottom fins like on feet without falling over. I got them for my toddler after a trip to the aquarium, and she likes lining them up on the table standing, like her other animal figures. I just wish we got 12 different ones, with colors as advertised, and that they didn’t smell so bad…
