I have one son who has the old yellow one and a son who has the newer white one. The new one is bigger, clearer, and brighter and seems all around nicer. The old version had the fish in a watery liquid – and the fish just lay at the bottom idle – almost like a snow globe. The new version has the fish encased in like a lucite where they are always suspended and visible. The way the light moves makes it look like they’re moving a bit as well.Seems a bit pricey, but it’s still hard to find a good, calm light that doesn’t light the room up when your eyes adjust. Both versions excelled at having the perfect amount of light.

I purchased this for my grandchildren, they like a little light at night and this is better than the boring plain ones. It changes color and is not overly bright for the room. They like the fish. It provides enough light it is helpful for parents and grandparents walking into the room at night to check on them. So we’re all happy with it. I think it is just a smidge overpriced; I would like to see this for about $10 or slightly less.

A RN friend gave one to my husband when he was terminally ill. He had ALS and she was looking ahead to the time he would be paralyzed to give him something to relax his mind. I loved the changing colors that showed on the wall above it. However, the one we had was fluid filled and the fish floated around inside. I see now they are made with solid acrylic and the fish are stationary. I just gifted the present version to my dear friend, who is also terminal. My daughter asked for the one we had and it has been plugged into her bathroom for 14 years and still kickin’. I will say buy with confidence.
